Pretty exciting!
Today I finished reading Hannibal. I read The Silence of the Lambs a few weeks earlier. I now have to get ahold of Red Dragon. Hannibal Lecter is my favorite villain of all time, and after reading the books, I’ve come to love this character.

Classic. I memorized this sketch in high school during my obsession with all things M.P.
No Children by The Mountain Goats
I can’t listen to this song without being reminded of the time Kate, Pile, Julia, and I were driving around yelling the lyrics — the day before Julia left for Nepal.
The words are terribly dark, but it provides a joyous, cathartic feeling.

Vimeo staff spent this past weekend on the island of North Haven, Maine. My most memorable experience was taking part in a sweat lodge. We built a massive fire in a pit and heated rocks until they were so red-hot, they were almost transparent. We spent a decent amount of time in there and ended it with five minutes of silence followed by three chanting “oooohhhmmmsss.”
Immediately after exiting the sweat lodge, we made our way to the beach and jumped in the ocean. At first I thought I was hallucinating because the waves beneath my feet were lighting up. After a moment we all realized the water was filled with phosphorescence.
I don’t typically describe things as being a spiritual experience, but this was. The water we were swimming in was filled with a galaxy of little lights, and above us was a clear, moonless sky full of stars and a perfect band of Milky Way stretching over our heads.
We all splashed around screaming and laughing. It’s something I’ll never forget.
